Dr. Ken Seaman, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine / Owner

Hi there!

Dr. Seaman graduated with honours from the University of Victoria in 1984 with a bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. Following that, he attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.

In 1996, Dr. Ken bought Puntledge Veterinary Clinic, which at that time was located on McPhee Avenue. He relocated to our current location on Lewis after he built the clinic, utilizing the wood cleared on the property.

Performing a chiropractic adjustment

His professional interests include senior pet health, orthopedic surgery, and all things that enhance the human-animal bond and make animal companions a joy to be with. In 2020, Dr Ken graduated with his degree in animal chiropractic care. He has also been actively involved with CAAT (Canadian Animal Assistance Team) with the international disaster relief in New Orleans (Katrina 2005) ,Peru (earthquake 2007) and more recently, Yelapa Animal Project in Mexico. He’s aided CAAT in their Animal Wellness Projects in Trinidad, Ucluelet and the Northwest Territories.

In his time outside the clinic, Dr. Ken enjoys most anything on or in the water. He has been scuba diving for over 30 years and has been an instructor for Canada Power Squadron.

Dr Lynn Slaby, DVM /Locum

Dr. Lynn Slaby has lived in the Comox Valley since 2003 with her husband, son, two cats (Apollo and Zeus) and her Hound Shepherd cross (Totem). She graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science. In 1997 she completed her doctorate from Western College of Veterinary Medicine. After a number of years working throughout BC and in New Zealand, Lynn and her family settled in Comox Valley. Dr. Lynn enjoys mountain biking and does search and rescue with Totem.
